We offer the general public the same services provided to NHL players such as professional Flat Bottom V & Traditional ROH skate sharpening, blade profiling, profile maintenance, glove repalming, blade/holder mounting & alignment, sewing, custom protective pad making, shot blockers, skate eyelet repair, Stock and Custom Warrior hockey equipment, TRUE Custom Fit skates, jerseys/socks, bags, apparel, and much much more! Chad O'Neil
Chad O’Neil is the Founder and Operator of SkateTech Skate Sharpening & Equipment Repair with over 23 years of sharpening and customizing experience at the recreational, junior, and professional levels.
Chad started working at the age of 15 at U.S. Ice Sports Complex in Fairview Heights, IL as a skate guard and pro shop employee where he grew up playing youth hockey for the Southern Illinois Ice Hawks. He would go on to play 4 years of Varsity hockey at Belleville East High School in Belleville, IL and play Junior B Hockey for the St. Louis Lightning of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MJHL).
From 2005-2011, O’Neil worked in hockey retail as Head of Hockey Sales & Operations at Johnny Mac’s Sporting Goods in St. Louis, MO.
During his tenure at Johnny Mac’s, Chad served as Head Equipment Manager of the Jr. A St. Louis Bandits of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for 2 seasons. During that time, he was named Head Equipment Manager for 2 NAHL Top Prospects Tournaments, won the Chuck Robertson Cup in 2008, and again reached the Chuck Robertson Cup Finals in 2009.
Following his success with the St. Louis Bandits, Chad joined the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League as an Assistant Equipment Manager and worked with them for six years (2011-2017).
After Chad left the Blues, he created SkateTech Skate Sharpening and Equipment Repair while still working part time as the Head Equipment Manager for CarShield AAA Hockey of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) and Maryville University Saints (ACHA DII) in St. Louis, MO.
